What a beautiful mess at Menningarnótt ! Thank you everyone who came and made it happen!
Studio Rasley x Origo
Rebekka Ashley, a product designer from the Iceland University of the Arts, creates work that lies at the intersection of art and design. The idea for the project emerged when she participated in a group exhibition at DesignMarch 2021, where the theme was everyday objects in new roles. This led her to explore the mundane items around people, and she noticed that boxes filled with unusable cables were often hidden away. Recycling cables can be challenging because they are made from composite materials. One of her recent collaborators is Origo who recently published an exciting article about the project. Read it here.

Visit Thomas Pausz' exhibition “Hide & Seek”
The exhibition is open 27.01.2024 – 02.03.2024
Hide & Seek is an ecological fable following multiple narratives. We encounter fragments from the diary of an amateur wildlife photographer lost in Vatnsmýri, birds attempting to build nests in human architecture, and a fan of Sir David Attenborough. Through photography, collages and artifacts, Thomas Pausz portrays the struggles, hopes and failures of capturing images of wildlife: he tries to make his own camouflage to become invisible in nature, waits for the elusive birds, struggles with cameras, and sometimes loses the focus. The assemblages of images resulting from his experience resemble memories or dreams of other landscapes.
hafnar.blabla #3: Antje, the Goddess of Nutrition
Antje Taiga Jandrig wears many hats: she's a photographer, chef, and food artist. But her real superpower? Bringing people together through food. At hafnarhaus, her tasty lunches aren't just meals; they're the glue that binds the community. They spark conversations, forge friendships, and inspire collaborations. Without her, the vibe just wouldn't be the same. And Josie Anne Gaitens? She'll show you even more of Antje's amazing world.
