Window pain management
What happens when something catastrophic becomes your everyday? Your profession is written in your DNA, Pain management. It began as a side job but over time it became a 24/7 gig. Even though you are sick of it you can’t quit. So you take classes, get tools and learn to manage. But the work follows you home, the tick window pain isolating you from the outside world. A cup of meds will make the job of the day more manageable.

Ingiríður Halldórsdóttir is an interdisciplinary artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Since 2023, she has worked from a studio at Hafnar.haus, where she is actively involved in the creative community—organizing events and art markets, and currently serving as treasurer of the Hafnarhaus Members Association.
With a background in poetry and a deep affection for wordplay, Ingiríður’s practice merges language with tactile materials such as clay and paper. Her work often explores themes of embodiment, illness, and systems of care, using metaphor as a tool to make sense of physical and emotional experiences.
Prompted by peers and lived experiences, she has developed a unique voice that weaves humor and vulnerability into sculptural forms. In early 2025, she exhibited “According to the Conversation” at Art Without Borders in Gerðuberg — a collection of ceramic pill bottle coasters and “word medicine” that reflect her engagement with language, health, and storytelling.
